NCR vs. NCT

• NCR and NCT are acronyms defining geographical regions in and around the national capital of India. 

• While NCT stands for National Capital Territory and delineates geographical boundaries of Delhi, NCR refers to National Capital Region and comprises not just Delhi but 4 satellite towns such as Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, ands NOIDA.


• While NCR is not an area having any legal jurisdiction, NCT is an actual map dividing Delhi into 9 districts for the purpose of administration.
