Bike Maintenance Tips

"We may get some exciting riding experience only when we do a little self-maintenance"   - Little Wizard.


Maintenance:

Washing

1. Remove the key from the ignition switch and wash the bike top to bottom and always use bike wash shampoo of your respective make.
2. Avoid high pressure water on switches meter and electronic parts.
3. Don’t wash the bike when it is in hot condition.
4. After washing, immediately mop your vehicle with cotton cloth and  use bike body polish of your respective make for polishing.
Checking

1. Check and maintain recommended clutch lever free play(you may use a steel ruler for this check).
2. Check for proper throttle free play(you may use a steel ruler for this check).
3. Ensure the chain is clean and free from dirt and rust and maintain chain free play.
4. Use only chain cleaner and chain lubricant or lube of your own bike make for smooth operation and better life.

5. Check front and rear brake pad wear indicator.
6. Ensure ABS rotor is clean and mud free.
7. Ensure front and rear brake fluid level is above than lower level mark.
8. In idle conditions RPM could be 1300 to 1500 rpm.
9. Check engine for any abnormal noise.
10. Ensure coolant level is within the specified limit.
11. Ensure engine oil level is in the specified limit.

Riding:

1. Ensure enough fuel is available in the fuel tank for your ride.
2. Check nuts and bolts for roper tighten.
3. Adjust rear view mirror position according to our height.
4. Check tire condition and always maintain correct tire pressure.
5. Keep cleaning rag, first aid kit under the rider seat or the space provided.
6. Push the self start button to ensure smooth starting and battery condition.
7. Check for any leakage i.e. Engine oil, fuel, or coolant.
8. Check light indicator and horn for proper functioning.
9. Immediately approach nearest dealership or service center if warning light glows continuously.
10. Ensure there should not be any sponginess in the front and rear breaks.
11. For effective breaking apply front and rear beaks simultaneously after releasing throttle.
12. Break disk surface should be oil and grease free.
13. Safety gears are for you own protection, always wear them while riding.
14. For better, balanced ride and less fatigue always have correct riding posture.
15. Always follow the traffic rules for own safety.
16. Motorcycle is meant for two persons avoid overloading.
